Skydive Geronimo · Rottnest Island Airport

A tandem skydive over Rottnest

Skydive Geronimo takes you up from Rottnest Island Airport, freefalls from 10,000 or 15,000 feet over the island and lands you on a beach. The ferry is not included, so book it as an add-on to your crossing.

Tandem Skydive over Rottnest Island

About this experience

This is an add-on, not a way to reach the island. The listing says plainly that the booking does not include ferry tickets. You make your own way to Rottnest, then walk about 15 minutes from the jetty to the terminal building at Rottnest Island Airport on Brand Way, where Skydive Geronimo checks you in.

You choose 10,000 or 15,000 feet. The listing gives a freefall of up to 66 seconds at around 200 km/h, a parachute opening at 5,000 feet and about five minutes under the canopy before landing on a beach. Skydive Geronimo's FAQ asks you to allow about two hours from start to finish. Photos and video are sold on the day.

Weather decides everything. Day-trippers must call about an hour before their ferry departs to confirm the jump, and delays can move your slot later in the day, so the operator suggests a late afternoon ferry home. The weight limit is 95 kg, with heavier passengers assessed case by case. If the operator cancels for weather, the listing states that you are refunded; your ferry ticket is a separate booking, so pick one with flexible cancellation.

Tips before you book

  • Book a ferry with free cancellation, such as the SeaLink Fremantle ticket, in case the jump is weathered out.
  • Take a late afternoon ferry home. Weather and air traffic can push your slot back.
  • Wear flat, enclosed shoes. Sandals and flip-flops are not allowed.
  • Dress warmly in winter: it is much colder at altitude than on the beach.
  • Under 18? A parent or legal guardian must come on the day to sign.
